Letter To My Friends

Invitation to the opening of the exhibition “Letter To My Friends” in the Seeweg Gallery at Gut Wittmoldt on May 26, 2019
Invitation to the opening of the exhibition “Letter To My Friends” in the Seeweg Gallery at Gut Wittmoldt on May 26, 2019

For the 75th birthday of Bernhard G. Lehmann showed the gallery Seeweg Gut Wittmoldt e. V. from May 26th to August 25th, 2019 the exhibition “Letter To My Friends” with new works by the artist and works by invited guests:

Liang Xuefang, China
Lin Lecheng, China
Josep Vallribera, Spain
Sabine Linse, Germany
Peter Rathman, Germany
Holger Rüdel, Germany

In his concept for the project, Bernhard G. Lehmann formulated:

I am showing works from the years 2016-2019, inserted texts / words are part of these pictures. Based on the title "Letter to my friends", I show the path that I have taken and am taking in fictional or real communication with other artists. These can be drastic personal and political events, myths, fleeting moments that I implement in my works using a wide variety of strategies in an approach to our collective history. Biographical elements, the subjective perspective on the past and present, illuminate my works in different forms and designs. "Letter to my friends" illustrates the human and artistic structure of my works of the past years..

There were four pictures from my series in the exhibition “The Anachronistic Train, 1980” presented as fine art prints on exhibition grade digital media 33 x 48 cm; matted and framed 50 x 60 cm.

Bernhard G. Lehmann defined the interface between this contemporary photo report and his artistic intention for the “Letter To My Friends” project with the following words:

Holger Rüdel’s photographic recordings of current events complement the exhibition; they also depict my own and collective experiences in a scenic manner.

The Schleswig-Holsteinische Zeitungsverlag reported on the exhibition on June 4, 2019: "Among friends".

Hammershus on the Danish Baltic Sea island of Bornholm is the largest castle ruin in Northern Europe. The fortress was built in the early 13th century and was the seat of Danish kings for a long time.

"The Hammershus Castle Ruins on Bornholm" - an example image from my galleries in the online shop, which features over 500 motifs to choose from. Available as fine art prints in many formats, such as on aluminum Dibond, canvas, behind acrylic glass, or on premium Hahnemühle papers.
