Nomads of our time: a long-term documentary about the work and life of four nomadic sheep farms in Schleswig-Holstein – an authentic, empathetic look at an old craft that is threatened with extinction.

The touring exhibition "Nomads of Our Time" is being shown for the first time outside of Schleswig-Holstein – at the newly redesigned Prehistoric Centre in Wildeshausen. The photographs depict four nomadic sheep farms in northern Germany and connect an ancient craft with a place that itself tells of the millennia-old relationship between humans, animals, and the landscape.
"Promotion": After its stop on Sylt, the touring exhibition "Nomads of Our Time. Wandering Sheep Farms in Schleswig-Holstein" will be shown on the Bungsberg, the highest point in the state, until December 14, 2025.
The exhibition “Nomads of our time. Travelling sheep farms in Schleswig-Holstein” with photographs by Holger Rüdel can be seen from February 13 to July 20, 2025 at the Sylt Museum in Keitum.
