Very good news for all photography fans: Nord-Ostsee Sparkasse is increasing its commitment to this area of cultural life! In a press release published today, Nospa announces its first project under the umbrella of the new nos.fotomenta.

“The world is worth fighting for.”

“Adventure extreme. The world is worth fighting for.”
Exhibition by Robert Marc Lehmann from October 13th, 2017 in the Flensburg corporate customer center of the Nord-Ostsee Sparkasse (exhibition opening there on October 12th, 2017, 19 p.m.)

The promotion of ambitious photographic projects has long been a focus of the regional cultural sponsorship of the Nord-Ostsee Sparkasse (Nospa). In autumn 2017, Nospa is planning to start a series of exhibitions in this area: under the umbrella brand nos.fotomenta, exhibitions and lectures with photographers and photo artists will take place regularly in Nospa's business area, which covers around a quarter of Schleswig-Holstein in the north. With this impulse, Nospa would like to sustainably enrich the cultural scene in its region with sophisticated offerings on the subject of photography.

Under the title “Adventure extreme. The world is worth fighting for,” nos.fotomenta will be presenting the marine biologist, trained research diver and adventurer Robert Marc Lehmann from Kiel as a kick-off project in the Flensburg Nospa corporate customer center from October 13, 2017.

Lehmann is also an award-winning photographer and filmmaker. National Geographic named him Photographer of the Year in 2015. As an “ambassador of the seas” he travels the whole world, always looking for new adventures and encounters with animals and people. Protecting the oceans, the largest ecosystem on this planet, is his most important concern. He prefers to photograph and film underwater, often with just one breath and often face to face with sharks, whales, seals and other sea creatures.

The multimedia exhibition as the opening event of nos.fotomenta is a premiere with many never-before-seen images. At the exhibition opening on October 12, 2017, 19 p.m., in the Nospa corporate customer center at Südergraben 8-14 in 24937 Flensburg, not only these images will captivate and enthrall people, but also Lehmann himself. He is a speaker close to the audience, his funny and informative way of conveying even difficult topics. His stories deal with a wide variety of, mostly controversial, topics. For example, how you can save tigers with Dixi toilets or dolphins that take drugs.”

I am pleased to be able to accompany this project as a curator.
