Sport reflected in world-class photographs: Since August 17, 2020, the Sparkassenstiftung Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel has been showing over 60 works by the award-winning sports photographer Lukas Schulze from Bergisch-Gladbach (North Rhine-Westphalia) in its “Photography Today” series. This project entitled “The Decisive Moment” was previously an initiative of the Nord-Ostsee Sparkasse in the nos.PHOTOMENTA in Flensburg and Schleswig to see.

Lukas Schulze is one of Germany's best sports photographers. His works not only depict exciting sporting events with their unforgettable highlights, but also have an artistic appearance that makes them stand out from the crowd of conventional sports photographs.

However, the entire cultural scene in Germany is still hard hit by the corona pandemic. This applies not only to the creatives themselves, but also to all event and exhibition locations. They are either closed or have extremely limited accessibility. The exhibition “The Decisive Moment” at the Sparkassenstiftung Schleswig-Holstein can currently only be viewed by appointment. 

In order to provide as much information as possible about this offer, the Sparkassenstiftung – similar to the Nord-Ostsee Sparkasse before it – had an accompanying video produced.

In this film, Bernd Brandes-Druba, Managing Director of the Sparkassenstiftung Schleswig-Holstein, talks to curator Holger Rüdel about the history of the project and the highlights of Lukas Schulze's work during a tour of the exhibition:

Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 16 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 14 p.m.
